Does not have a overheat shutdown it is possible to have ruined the oil as marc said dont use ether any more your best bet is to change the oil and give that a shot but at this point i would get the codes pulled there is a chance of siezing the rings on the pistons if overheated to bad thats why marc asked what it sounded like the ether will pick up the.
